Sadness on Valentine's Day

The ashes of your past have been scattered,

My feelings for you have shattered,

For all that you seemed to be never came true,

Or maybe I was always expecting thru and thru,

No one ever takes the blame,

It is truly a great shame,

But I took the fall,

Tried to reach out and call,

But you never came,

While I lay playing death's game,

What happened on that fateful Valentine's day,

When my life turned gray,

If only you could responded one last time,

I would have never taken into this sadness,

Never comforted by this ever-growing madness,

You must realize its never too late,

Second chance has been given by fate,

And I shall stand by you at the gate,

And I may once again find my soul mate!

I'm not sure about this. I totally respect the author but it seems like simple poetry to me.
